CAL-TEST was a pioneer, when it was founded by Mr. Kevin W. Odenbaugh, a California Police Officer, back in October of 1991. Unlike today, Employee Drug testing was a sea of uncharted waters! There was very little case law relating to employee drug testing and absolutely NO Federal Laws or Regulations to guide employers on how to conduct employee testing correctly! It was truly a "new frontier" that needed to be mapped out and roads built, so drug testing could succeed and NOT be faced with numerous legal challenges.....and it had to be done correctly and fairly, with unwaivering respect for the employee's State & Federal privacy rights. Of course, over the past 20 years, CAL-TEST has learned all the pit falls and legal concerns that must be addressed before ANY Company, regulated or not, chooses to start or continue employee drug testing, especially within California! Cal-Test will manage your employee lists and Random Pools, to ensure every employee has an equal chance of being selected, without any pool dilution or manual manipulation. All Random Selections are computerized and serialized, so they can easily be audited by Union representatives, Attorney's or employees. Once an employee is selected for Random testing, Cal-Test generates a "Random Test Notification Letter" for the employee, so he/she knows they were actually randomly selected for testing and NOT "hand picked". Drug & Alcohol Recognition Training: (Click link to our Training page) Cal-Test's team of court certified experts will train your Supervisors how to identify and test employees who they "suspect" may be working while under the influence of drugs or alcohol. This training will also cover all the Drug & Alcohol Testing regulations and practices, to include employee confrontation and referal for testing. This training is mandated by the Federal Department of Transportation (D.O.T.), the California Highway Patrol (C.H.P.) & the California Public Utilities Commission (P.U.C.).
